Where the Sun comes to dress up
Kannadipara, as the name suggests, is a valley of rocky mountains that reflect the morning Sun with mirror-like perfection. Kannadipara is also the highest point in Ilaveezhapoonchira.
Attraction
Kannadipara, situated in Kudayathoor Vindhyan, grips you and leaves you transfixed. It is like this place has a lens in its genes - you get the panoramic view of Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Thrissur districts standing in one spot.
Meadows and wild flowers
3kms from Kannadipara is the Pazhakakanam plateau nourished by the graceful Kadapuzha river. The bamboo groves, meadows and wild flowers give this place its exotic touch. An added attraction here is the Kazhukankulimali Waterfalls, the waters of which playfully cascade down the mountain to greet the river below with a magnificent splash.
On the eastern side of Kannadipara is a natural fort, set amidst steep rocks, and is the most noteworthy point at Illaveezhapoonchira.
